Fall 2012
Empire Trifecta Alpaca Show
What a great show, with some outstanding results for Patchwork Meadow.
Sunrise Salutation,, or "Sunny" as we call her on the farm, took the blue ribbon in her class. She then went on to be awarded the Light Color Female Reserve Champion Banner. Fantastic, for her and us!
Storm King, took second place honors, at his first show. He was the youngest in his class, and he sure looked impressive at just 12 months of age. Well done!
SPRING 2012 Alpacas Shows
Patchwork Meadow Alpacas participated in the following spring shows:
North American Alpaca Show on March 30 - April 1, 2012, in West Springfield, Mass.
MAPACA Jubilee on April 27 - 29, 2012, in Harrisburg, Pa.
April 2011 Update:

We are excited to announce that
Fieldmaster, our 8 month old juvenile male, took the
Blue Ribbon at his first show, the
North American Alpaca Show. He was then awarded the
Reserve Champion Banner for Black Huacaya Males. Fieldmaster repeated his excellent showing at MAPACA Jubilee the following weekend, again taking the
Blue Ribbon and
Reserve Champion Banner. He is the offspring of our dam
Danica, and champion sire
, Rumm Runner of CCAP Alpacas. The response to this young male has been incredibly positive, and we are confident that he will continue to demonstrate his champion traits in the show ring. Fieldmaster has now taken his third banner at the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular in Vermont. Awesome!
ISN'T HE STUNNING?

We
are proud to announce the addition of this outstanding silver grey male
to our herdsire row. Our thanks to Faith and Herb Perkins of Quarry
Ridge Alpacas for giving us the opportunity to purchase Quarry Ridge Ikon, the award winning offspring of Legend's Challenger of KPR and QR A Cappella. We are excited to add these solid genetics to our herd, and we look forward to using Ikon in our breeding program. Please look for more information and photos of Ikon on our Herdsires' page.
2010 CRIAS have arrived!
We welcome the newest members of our
herd. This year's first cria arrived on May 17th, a beautiful light
fawn female from Madeline and our herdsire, Patriot. Her name is Providence. What a great
beginning to a promising birthing year!
Providence, Beekman and OliviaWe will surely be
expanding our "herdsire row" with the new male crias that arrived in
June and July. Buckley is the new fawn offspring of Breanna and NM
Beethoven, and from Danica and Rumm Runner we have a great brown boy
that we named Fieldmaster. Not to be outdone, Olivia presented us with a
very impressive dark fawn male who is the firstborn cria of our
herdsire, Mighty Fine Finnegan. Please look for additional information
about these newest arrivals on our
Crias page.

Thanks to everyone who came out to visit our farm on National Alpaca Farm Days, Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, 2009. It was a great time to see our new "crop" of
crias, and to watch demonstrations of what we do with the luxurious
fiber that our alpacas provide for us.
Visitors were able to browse the
new products in
our
farm store, including exclusive, limited edition yarns and roving
made from our alpaca fleeces, just waiting to be made into beautiful handmade items.
News
Spring, 2009
Our first cria of the year has arrived! Patchwork Meadow's Sweet Adelaide was born to our dam Madeline and sire Braveheart on May 31st, 2009. Her outstanding quality is just what we were hoping for when we chose Madeline to be Braveheart's first breeding partner. Sweet Addy is simply a wonderful cria with incredibly soft and silky bright white fiber. Madeline's bay black cria from 2008, Annie's Song, took her first reserve champion banner at the Northeast Alpaca Expo in May. From black to white, Madeline throws crias of excellence.
Seeing Blue, and Purple and Red, too!
Our guys brought home the
blue ribbons again, this time at the
2009 Empire Fleece Event Spin-Off.
Patriot, his brother
Beringer,
Finnegan and
Braveheart all took
first place honors....
and
Patriot took home the
purple ribbon for
Highest Scoring Fawn entry! For the girls,
Rosalia took
second place honors, while
Danica placed
third (in Finnegan's class). Great work and thanks,
Anne, for doing all the skirting and preparation for our entries!
SPRING, 2009 SHOW RESULTS
Patchwork Meadow's Annie's Song took a
blue first place ribbon at the
Northeast Alpaca Expo in Syracuse, NY in May. She topped that when she was awarded the
Reserve Championship for black female huacayas. At just under one year old at the time, Annie is certainly living up to her potential!
2008
Mighty Fine Finnegan continues to take the blue!
Finnegan came
home with first place honors from the Empire Extravaganza in October,
2008. He then repeated his first place showing at the Green Mountain
Alpaca Fall Spectacular in Vermont. The judges had great things to
say about his dense, fine fiber as well as his awesome conformation and
presence in the ring. These were both highly competitive classes, at
two different shows with two different judges. Finnegan's outstanding
showing confirms our judgment that he is, indeed, "mighty fine," and
destined for herdsire status in the summer of 2009.

Danica takes awards at two Fall shows!
Patchwork
Meadow's Danica took second place honors at the Empire Extravaganza in
October, 2008. Considering that the alpaca who placed above her
already has a reserve champion banner, we were very pleased. She
continued her excellent showing at the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall
Spectacular the following weekend, with third place honors (again,
behind two alpacas that have bannered in the past). Danica is showing
excellent form and outstanding fiber, and we are looking forward to
showing her again in the spring.
Hmmm,... we'll be on the lookout for just the right herdsire when we select a breeding partner for her next summer.
